Tell us about your wedding theme and what you loved most about your special day. What made your wedding unique?

Due to planning a wedding during the Covid-19 pandemic, we didn't have a set wedding theme, but we did have wedding colours, which were plum purple with gold accents. So with the bridesmaids dresses and groomsmen's ties, flowers, and decor, we knew we wanted plum purple incorporated with a touch of gold.

I loved the intimacy of our wedding the most. We had to cut down our guest list a few times during the planning process and we ended up with 30 guests. Even with the restrictions lifting at the time, we felt as though 30 guests was a good number to keep the list at and we couldn't have been happier.

How long have you known each other? How did you meet?

We've known each other for 4 years, going on 5 years this December.

We met on a dating app called "East Meet East" and it was as if we already knew each other for much longer. We were able to have conversations organically and when we met up in person for our first date, it didn't feel like two strangers meeting, but long-time friends.

Now we're married and I wouldn't want to be with anyone else.



What was your favourite part of the day?

My favourite part of the day was our first look. After we finished getting ready separately, we met up in a balcony area at our hotel with our bridal party and I had not expected the reaction that I got. When I walked up to him, tapped his shoulder and he turned around, he ugly cried and I was caught off guard. I started crying too and I had just finished getting my make-up done, but it was definitely the best reaction in everyone's opinion. I got lectured by my matron of honour for crying and almost ruining my make-up 😂

What tips do you have for engaged couples who are planning their wedding, especially during a pandemic?

If you are able to find a venue that provides packages through collaboration with vendors (such as photography, catering, decor and flowers) and are flexible with incorporating what the bride and groom wants, it will definitely make planning much easier. My husband and I chose Bellamy Loft and they have many packages to choose from.



Why did you choose Henkaa for your wedding?

I chose Henkaa because I knew I wanted my bridesmaids to wear the same colour dress, but in different styles and I also wanted to shop locally. So I was incredibly happy to come upon an ad for Henkaa on Facebook showing me the Sakura Infinity Dress and the multitude of colours, but of course I chose plum purple! My girls looked incredible!
